This page provides code only. Your roster data stays in your spreadsheet; there is nothing to upload here.
INSTALL IN AN EXISTING SPREADSHEET
Copy. Paste. Reload.
- Open Apps Script
In your master spreadsheet, choose Extensions → Apps Script.
- Paste the complete script
If the project only contains the default
myFunction, replace it. Otherwise, add a new Script file namedStudentDataMergerand preserve your existing code. - Save and reload your spreadsheet
Use Student Data → Merge Data or Manage Backups. Complete Google authorization if prompted and permitted by your organization.
Updating an older installation?
Replace the previous merger code with this complete script. Do not keep two copies of the merger code. The old Merger.html and Backups.html files are no longer used. Save, close old dialogs, and reload the spreadsheet. Existing installations update when you replace their code; they do not update themselves.
Already have an onOpen function?
Keep your existing function. Remove only the following wrapper from the newly pasted merger script:
function onOpen(e) { sdmOnOpen(); }Add sdmOnOpen(); inside your existing onOpen function. There should be only one onOpen in the project.
Do I need to edit appsscript.json?
A standard new installation needs no manifest edits. Keep an existing project’s settings and permissions. If it has an explicit OAuth scope list, include these scopes along with any permissions its other scripts need:
